This pilot is for people who already have years of results nobody has ever put side by side.

The objection

Why not just ask a chatbot?

A lot of people already do. Asking a general assistant about a symptom or a lab result is an ordinary thing to do now, and it is often genuinely useful.

The problem is not the model. It is that you are told two things at once: give it as much context as you can, and give it nothing that identifies you. Do both and you end up asking about your own health with half your record left out.

Velmira is the place where that trade-off does not exist. Nothing to paste. Nothing to strip out first. It already has your reports, because they are your reports.

What it will not do is tell you what is wrong with you. That is your clinician's job; Velmira's is to get you into the room with better questions.

The promises

Where your data lives

  • Your data is encrypted on your device and encrypted again on our servers. Every request can reach only your own records, and that rule lives in the database, one layer below the app.
  • We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising.
  • Offline first. The copy on your phone is the real one, and it syncs when there is a connection to sync over.
  • Your lab's own ranges. A value is only ever shown against the range printed on the report it came from.
  • Nothing it cannot cite. Anything it cannot point back to a source for is not shown at all.
  • Yours to delete. You can erase your account and everything in it from inside the app, or ask us to without installing anything. It is permanent, and we say plainly how long each stage takes.
  • A copy on request. There is no download-your-data button yet. Ask us and we will put a copy together by hand. We would rather say that than imply a button that does not exist.
  • What actually protects your record. HIPAA covers doctors, hospitals and insurers. It does not cover apps like this one, and Velmira is not a HIPAA-covered entity. Here the protection is the encryption above and the Privacy Policy below. Most people assume the law covers an app like this, so it is worth knowing where you actually stand.
  • Velmira does not currently offer any way to share your health data with another person, including a doctor. If we ever add it, it will be something you switch on yourself.

The Privacy Policy is the version that binds us, and it is short enough to read.
